Hello? ... Hello??
Hi Permians, are you still there? I am disappointed with our lack of contact! I would like to hear from you ... Iren, what happened with your camera?
I am attaching a pic of myself and Phillip with some students on a trip we took last weekend.

PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE TO MARINA B

Dear Marina,

I'm afraid that I have some sad news - the customs people at the airport wouldn't let me take the painting out of the country. I explained that it was a present, and that it was by a local artist, and was not extremely valuable but they were adamant. They said that it would need to have special papers from Ekaterinburg, or another city (can't remember the name). I was very upset, but again that didn't change anything! The girl from Lufthansa did help me, she has assured me that they will keep the painting in their office until it can be collected, their telephone number is - 294 9643, you should call them asap.

It was so kind of you to give me the painting, I liked it very much and had plans about where to put it. It was and it a terribly frustrating and upsetting situation! Still, thank you for your kindness. Please do let me know when you have successfully recovered it.

With love and best wishes,

Caroline

GOOD BYE AND THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!

Dear friends,
Sian and I had an absolutely spectacular time with you in your city, thank you so very much for your kindess and hospitality. We wished we could have stayed longer, however we do feel privelaged to have had just a week.
I am attaching a couple of photos from our trip last Saturday to the open-air museum. Sian and I were very excited by the snow! When I have a bit more time I'll upload some photos onto an online album and send you the link.
In the meantime, I'd like to say to Olga and to those of you who have already posted comments on this blog that it looks great. I really hope that those of you who have already accepted Olga's invitation to become contributors will start creating posts soon. You really need to be pro-active in order for the blog to maintain momentum, because blogs only work if they are kept fresh. For those teachers who would like to become active bloggers and missed my session I typed out very clear instructions on how to register and get started, they should ask Olga for a copy.
Good luck too to Elena P. for her Littera blog (link posted beneath the photos) which looks fantastic and has already had numerous student comments.

We can keep in touch via the blog, in addition, my e-mail address is
Take care, and I hope we'll meet again.
